Tobacco and Salt Museum at a glance
The Tobacco and Salt Museum is on Koen Dori (Park Avenue) in Shibuya and is run by Japan Tabacco. Japan Tabacco used to control the trade of salt and tobacco in the country, hence the theme of this rather obscure museum.
The 4th floor has revolving exhibitions and the 3rd floor has displays on history of salt production in Japan. The 2nd floor is possibly the most interesting with information on methods of tobacco curing from around the world, including some 2000 cigarette packs from all over the globe.
Although the signs are primarily in Japanese, the pictures and diagrams are easy enough to follow.
